I am a little curious as to why CWE is having wave tank testing done at the University of Plymouth? The FloWave facility in Edinburgh (where previous testing was done), is supposed to be the most advanced in the world, able to replicate almost all sea conditions and wave types.

I am thinking that companies that have signed up for the four berths at WaveHub may have a package agreement that commits them to using Cornwall's facilities.

    That would be:

University of Plymouth (wave tank testing), A & P Falmouth (construction of WEC), FabTest (for device testing in protected waters) and WaveHub (device deployment and grid connection in exposed site).

It makes sense that the engineers that are developing and building the devices would want easy access to wave testing as they prepare the operational model. Perhaps that is why the testing has moved to Plymouth.
