Interesting to see a minor occurence of stagflation in WA at the moment. With the Apache gas crisis, many mines have shut down until the problem is resolved. couple this with the inlfation experienced in the state (the main driver of our CPI pressing the upper tolerance band) and you ahve any economies worst nightmare.
luckily what we have isnt stagflation as we know it from the OPEC crisis of the 70s, but it shows how we need to work on supply side issues in our economy. how we can leave our whole export industry open to the possibility of such an explosion in this day and age is beside me
to say more money needs to be spent on infratsructure, training, and innovation is a MASSIVE understatement
