Right or wrong, is it ironic that the powers that be all of a sudden see stamp duty as an unnecessary tax at the same time property is on the decline?

It's also interesting to see people on here promote grants and stimulus (government spending tax money) and at the same time agree that stamp duty (government revenue) is wrong.

A little like the pot calling the kettle black.
