I agree. You get nothing for it that you should be getting through your other taxes. It's a tax grab for the sake of it to bloat consolidated revenue. I would assume that a more useful use for it would be for roads/transport/land development etc., something relating to the pressures land usage 'imposes' on the state.
So anyone bleeting about non private land ownership should be grateful it's subsidising their services.
