    Yes, our standard of living is certainly higher than our parents, my father sold ice creams after school at the movies to help make ends meet during the depression.

    You often see people whinging because they can't afford the latest toys, a poster here the other day wanted to know why his wife had to work to help pay the mortgage. My answer - your mortgage is too big or you can't afford a house.

    The kids mostly have the latest phones and toys, but still complain how poor they are and how oppressive student loans can be.

    Fancy that, they should live within their means. Visit the 'poor' side of town and see how many satellite tv receivers decorate the rooves and checkout the business the local pub is doing.

    Yes, I've got a nephew who won't work, says after 6 years work (3 full-time, 3 part-time) that's it for him, he's done with work.

    Poverty awaits him but he hasn't worked it out yet.

    Things are tough, but there's work out there for those that want to progress, willing to learn, respect others, and aren't covered in tattoos or piercings, the sign of a real loser.
