I was referring to state owned dams that supply potable water to regional areas as well as dams supplying the
capital cities like Warragamba in Sydney. Its the cheapest way to increase capacity.
However, a subsidy to farmers to hire local contractors would certainly help regional economies. More
dams can be dug out too.
Unfortunately, in Australia, every bureaucrat, in every level of government, would do everything possible
to stop this.
