Eagle, no real need for an early election as the government has sufficient fat to win the next election.
However they may go early to offset any inroads, which might be made by the opposition, in respect of the next budget, the kerfuffle over ETS and asylum seekers.
The PM has stated that his intention is to wait.
Be interesting to see if he keeps his word on that.
