re: - extralite Yes, I can see that experience of the companies you mention - even if at a distance - could make you wary. "Once bitten, twice shy".
However, I din't think there was anything necessarily "shifty" about Mr Marland’s responses to the issues you mention. This comes back to my point about PeopleTel being hitherto a private company. I imagine it will take a fair degree of adjustment for Mssrs Marland, O'Hare et al to accommodate to the openness expected of them in their new roles as captains of a listed, public entity.
Indeed, on the contrary, I thought Mr Marland’s effort in volunteering to field questions in an on-line forum (which didn’t speak to me at all of someone with something to hide) was actually quite commendable, and an act of extraordinary goodwill. (I suspect, however, that he would have been surprised by the level of skepticism, not to say outright hostility evinced by some of his questioners. The rollicking ‘we’re off on a great and profitable adventure’ tailed off soon once the badgering began.)
You are of course correct in your assertion that ‘having faith in directors is one of the key factors in deciding whether to hold’. For my part, I am very happy with the track records these fellows bring to Swiftel and will be giving them plenty of time to weave their own particular magic.
You must, of course, decide for yourself. But I wouldn’t get too het up about the fine print just yet.
