My 2 cents:

*AGO: stable,good cash at bank, potential growth stock and maiden dividend could come this year.
* RMS: one of the lowest gold producers in Australiam, almost $90 million in the bank and great grades.
* CAP: Most advanced iron ore project in the new "iron ore provence" of broken hill. Intersts in iron ore, tin, gold, tungsten and nickel. Less than 100m shares on issue.
* GXY: stock of the future: mining lithium and plans to vertically integrate and make lithium batteries (in China)for electric cars, bikes, etc. Strong Asian ties.

Also for consideration (more speculative): ARD, SVL, HOG & GDO.

Good luck with your starting your portfolio. I started investing in July last year and you are certainly in for a steep learning curve. The results can be very rewarding if you do your homework.
