Ok then enjoy the waste. Regardless of whether we have 1 level of gov't or 3 as we currently do - they are all elected at the end of the day.
Perhaps a more palatable solution is to merge both the federal and state gov'ts - i.e. have a country leader, a council of premiers below that and then select the various ministers from the state level politicians. This would halve the number of pollies, allow uniform laws, and have one system with no duplication across Australia.
