It seems to me that the States that did deals with the labs went against their own parties in the hope of getting more bribe money out of the labs by so doing.The coalition always had grave doubts about the gonski plan,even gonski was not overly impressed with the lab version of his plan.Also didn't bowen pull 1.6 billion out of the pot?The private schools come up a mile short of the pub schools when you add up both state and Fed contributions. Money is not the problem with the education system,it is lack of quality teachers who are more interested in teaching the 3 Rs than foisting their own idiot politics on the students.Too much wasted on arts councils and field trips
