The suggestion that there should be immediate send off for any shoulder contact on head is laughable. I saw Andrew Johns frothing at the mouth during one of the games about this, "didn't that hit his head?" "shouldn't that be a send off?" etc etc. Poor old Joey couldn't seem to see that the tackler pulled out of the tackle, contact was incidental and there was no force, so didn't represent a dangerous situation.
Suaalii clearly launched himself at an unbraced player who had just passed the ball. No argument he may not have intended to hit his head but his action meant any movement would result in a dangerous situation. The tackle obviously had intent and the fact is Walsh was lucky he didn't suffer something far more serious.
Inidividual incidents such as this must be assessed for what they are not some ludicrous blanket send off scenario which must be reserved for serious offences.
