re: state of the union/usa today's take
This speech must be the finest paradigm yet of just how good the Americans are at manufacturing and emitting subliminal messages of the consent kind. Don't pronounce the word "Iraq" for forty minutes but include it, subliminally while you're talking about the "economy," the "poor" elsewhere, the "forests and nature" which I will rape and defile by plunging long oil searching screws into her. No, don't pronounce the words "Iraq" or "oil" or "Alaska" or "Empire". The punters on the ground have been kept out of educational institutions long enough to render them stupid and unable to understand those words. Instead pronounce the words -in one sentence- "God+bless+America." It's what we sing every morning before we enter the classroom. In any case, what do they mean, these words? Like Howard's words, "we have not yet included our soldiers in any deal with the USA," and "war is not inevitable," they mean, "huge deaths of civilians -yeah maybe innocent but no one you know darling- will take place because no one has the moral or financial fortitude to stand up to us, at least - not yet! Let them continue watching their cricket." I so ardently hate subliminal messages!
