From what others are saying on multiple share post threads, it may be a bit more than than. Reading through the State Street "Becoming/Ceasing to be a Substantial Holder " notices, they appear to be buying, selling and perhaps (Loaning) company shares to every major bank and Investment institution. Many familiar global and Australian organisations amongst them. It seems to me that (Shorting) on an industrial scale maybe what is going on here. Given that JP Morgan is currently being prosecuted in the USA for their part in manipulating the global price of gold, I wonder if State Street feel that Shorting stocks at the moment on (American) exchanges may attract unwanted attention. Hence their sudden appearance across ASX stocks. However, perhaps I am reading too much into State Street's activities. Happy to be enlightened. I just know that between Bot Trading and the Shorting that has completely corrupted the global stock market, the aforementioned would not surprise me.
