Why oh why do we have to have an electoral system that requires most of us to feel that it is necessary to elect the parliamentary representatives most likely to deliver the pork. Turns out that far too many of these politicians turn out to be sycophants and dunderheads to boot. And the pork that they do deliver often turns out to be rancid anyway. Some innovation is in order - The Anarchist Party of Canada (Groucho-Marxist) had the right idea some years back - custard pies!
