It is not politically correct and provokes condemnation from the chattering classes but what Tony says makes a lot of sense.

Germany is preparing to receive a million refugees this year, could be more and who know where it will stop as word spreads of Germany's open door policy - 2 million, more?

Need to start to think a few years down the track, majority muslim men, how easily will they find work in a modern European economy, most poorly educated, can't speak the language....if they do compete for work will likely be for the lower salaried jobs competing against the lower economic classes of Germans who are already struggling to find work. Could be huge numbers unemployed, dependent on welfare....already many reports of them complaining the accommodation isn't good enough, need a mobile phone, better food....not difficult to see where this could end....huge numbers in ghettos, unemployed, not fitting in....this is fodder for hard line Muslims to recruit and poison with anti-western sentiment.

There are many countries between Syria and Germany....if it just about escaping war and persecution then the goal is achieved once the are in Lebanon, Turkey, Jordon or the many other countries in between. But of course it is only part of the story. Immigrating to strong economy with a good welfare system is a large part of the story, yes economic migration, let's not pretend it is not a large part of it.
