    Found this article on bloomberg business week today;

    http://www.businessweek.com/news/2012-09-20/statoil-seeking-shale-oil-opportunities-in-australia-china

    just a bit of background Statoil's majority shareholder is the Norwegian State; back in August 2012 the Norwegian Central bank took a 6% stake in beach which they later sold down approx 20 million shares in early September 2012, leaving them with 50 million, but the more interesting thing is that JP morgan is the registered holder of the shares for the Norwegian central bank (per the notification of significant shareholding on the 23/8/2012) and interestingly JP morgan hold approx 25% of Beach as at the 28/08/2012 - per the top 20 shareholders on the beach website.

    I think it unusual that JP morgan would hold approx 25% stake in beach; and to me it looks more like holding stake for a takeover - IMO. The article above and the comments from the Statoil VP in the article seem to confirm that something is on the cards - the question is it beach? - IMO
