Its my understanding that its a case whereby individuals in the OAR executive thought they knew better and did not heed advice from expatriates who have an intimate understanding of the mining landscape in Indonesia. There were ways forward in this case but those based in Australia unfortunately decided to go there own way and got caught trying to resolve matters the local way. The retreat to a small share was a matter of survival and is public knowledge on the street. As an expat with over 20 years in Indonesia I have seen it many times.
