2019 was a particularly bad flu year, one of the worst in Aus: Over 800 deaths and over 4000 hospitalizations from over 300,000 lab confirmed cases (and likely many more never reported/tested) (0.26%).
Covid over 958 deaths from 39,000 confirmed cases (2.45%) ... Take out all of Vic cases, and that is 138 out of 17,000. (0.77%).
