Brought to you by people who are either too naive to understand the real ramifications of withdrawing from day to day economic activities, or they can stay indoors (for now) with their sheer wealth or their convenience of working from home. They are cruelly not understanding what this is doing to everyone else who either has to continue working to survive or just to keep their businesses afloat. Ultimately, they will lose their wealth and also their cushy jobs working from home if this pans out the way it's looking.
But it was the PC mentality that made authorities procrastinate halting all travel to our shores from Asia, leaving us more affected as a result. But now, the biggest killer here is not the COVID-19, it will be the draconian decisions made by our leaders and also CEOs of our companies to shut down everything. No leader or CEO wants to have deaths on their watch. If you are a CEO of a business where you failed to close its doors, would you be liable if one of your workers became infected and passed the disease onto the public? Imagine the backlash if a young child died as a result of coming into contact with a worker in one of their stores; I'm pretty this is on the minds of all in charge to avoid criminal negligence and lawsuits down the track. But what they are inadvertently doing, is directly causing the financial collapse of our complete economic system as a result. It might be okay if you shut your business to do the right thing, and might be okay for the next business to do the same, but it is not okay for literally everything to shut down all at the same time, which is out of fear of being liable as mentioned.
We are globalised - we have gorged ourselves on its nourishment and are now ticked off that we have put on too much weight, so to speak. We wanted our cake but none of the side-effects. Look at the air pollution that hovered over China - did anyone not ever think that maybe this was a warning that something was not right? Stay inside everybody!
