    Always have to laugh when ppl cherry pick their success stories. All looks good in hindsight, but your MTU shares could just as easily have slid off the table.

    I have no problem in MTU being a success story and one that ppl have profited on. But do not make the mistake of confusing opportunity and risk.

    I have held TLS since their second tranche float (so yes, cheaper buy in than your dad). In that time they have achieved an IRR of 17.1% (capital and divvies). 17.1% year in year out, every year for the past (almost) 10 years.

    While your argument on opportunity cost is accepted, for many ppl there are some stocks that they do not need to worry about and are true "bottom of the drawer" companies. If that's not your style, don't trash those for whom it is.

    And in fact you are plain wrong. TLS has an earning growth rate of 3.3% over 10 years - pretty low, sure, but not zero.
