really everyone should budget l think for a 3.5% ff yield.
anything over this is probably not sustainable and should be fed back into the market.
the yield on PIC is too high it will erode capital of you will have no capital growth.
where do l get the 3.5% yield figure? that was historically the figure l used.
1) it ensured l had sufficient capital to overcome any poor share selections, ensured growth. that was the yield originally when l got SOL and BKW.
2) the yield of 3.5% needs to increase every year
l agree don't be blinded by the headline yield. lower it to a sustainable level. you must feed back capital.
(- that being said don't underestimate the franking in a smsf in pension phase)
