steady increase

Hi, I am very new to this stock. I notice there is a nice trend upwards over a month just gone. What is this based on, speculation or anticipation of news to come? I notice take over news is a hot topic. Will this turn into a dog if there is no news as expected? On the one side Santos may be interested but if they are not, who are the other contenders? Eggs in one basket... Who knows. I am not one to listen to on this one. I am missing something.
