I don't think anyone who has followed MFS recently thought it would fetch $2 bill or even close to that. When MFS were considering Stella last year, they were hoping for $2.5 bill using a PE of 12 which was unrealistic then and hence no deal happened. To have achieved anything above a PE of 8 now would have been a massive achievement given their current situation.
