    sure, plenty of populist clap-trap in there as well, no doubt about that. Let's face it, No US President would be there without it.

    But at least he was prepared to get his hands dirty on some of those tougher issues (like debt). How often does that even rate a mention in mainstream US politics?

    Removal of Cap Gains tax for business and swinging the repaid bailout money back to the smaller banks. Plus an agenda for nuclear energy. All sounds sensible.

    At least he appears to be having a run at it and putting the issues on the table. It's a starting point if nothing else and definitely more relevant than Bush's usual drivel on terrrrrists.
