Being President - or any leadership position for that matter - is about character, about trying to select a good/best/better course of action, about installing confidence and providing some measure of hope through careful decision making and what is better for the majority, not just the vested interests.
Achieving the economic/social/organizational/etc., goals is difficult at the best of times but in this GFC, with is associated doom and gloom psychology, its virtually impossible to "fix" anything (at least in the short term) and, of course, as there is no "repair manual" the extent to which a thing is "fixed", or "on the mend" (or otherwise) is always open to criticism and argument - especially from those that disagree.
What I dislike is the number of ppl who come out with the one liners and the "easy" answers, but in fact they show have no answers and usually even less imagination, so all they have left is criticism. And criticism from politicians (the opposition usually) is usually cheap and more often than not self-serving.
BTW, its my view that Obama is doing Ok - heaven forbid Bush (or the Republicans!) were still in power with this mess going on!!!
