My understanding is that Remplir and Striate can be manufactured and kept “on the shelf” to some extent. Much easier to distribute. ATI/ACI are totally custom made to order products once decision made to use. For ATI, I was told the actual tendon biopsy can sit around waiting for the decision to produce the tenocytes but once made all systems are go. My surgeon was to do my implantation but had to go overseas urgently but he was able to find a radiologist who was familiar with the implantation.
My take is that for doing ATI/ACI only, OCC would license a suitable lab in Europe and/or North America to do it as there is also an established distribution infrastructure there for time critical medical products.
