There is an unending amount of scuttlebutt coming out of South Africa but we know all we need to know...they cheated...they conspired to cheat....and I can believe that there wasn't one person in the conspiritorial huddle that didnt straight away say ''thats a crazy idea''. Thats where it should have stopped....as a hare brained idea that no one took seriously...it should have been treated as a joke in the first instance because you couldnt really expect to go out into the middle and tamper the ball in front of televsion cameras, the press photographers with their 1 metre long lenses and spectators with binoculars and seriously think you could get away with that.....they were obviously blinded by their own need to win, change the result by any means....this is what has disappointed this Aussie boy who grew up playing and watching cricket....Cricket has really gone to the dogs....they all take themselves way too seriously and are mostly a bunch of overpaid prima donnas who can't take losing....I feel for Bancroft as the junior who got the short straw of being the one who was appointed to do the deed but in all honesty he should have said No...he just wasnt brave enough....a big mistake for a young bloke caving into pressure from those he looked up to and respected.
