Sources of manganese for HPEMM

Here is the crux of the problem. Only c.2% of all manganese ore resources in the world are manganese carbonate orebodies.A key aspect of many carbonate orebodies is that the carbonate ores are often intermixed with oxide ores. This makes selective mining challenging on a bulk scale, meaning that mining for carbonate ore on its own may not be economic. I can count on the fingers of one hand the select few carbonate orebodies in the world which can be bulk mined for manganese carbonate and which contain material suitable for upgrading to make batteries.
