Demon, I remember when I was MD of a high tech coy, it was always a struggle, because technology moves so fast these days that it won't allow you sufficient time to recover the R&D before it becomes obsolete, so I have some empathy with these guys. I must be 'positive' to have stuck with them for so long - as you have, but without new products which become cash cows no company can survive.
As for Stockdale, well, he's a politician isn't he!
Two things I was once told about investing which I did not heed;
Never invest in pioneering companies and; don't invest where there is a politician on the Board! Both of which I seen to have forgotten.
