Interesting point - seems a bit illogical to me that stock prices would lead the price of gold ? Not impossible - nothing it seems is but in terms of cause and effect surely given POG drives company profits and value - that shifts first followed by the value of the entity as reflected in the sp.
On saying that - these markets are fairly treacherous and there often appears a fair element of unpredictable irrational behaviour especially of late with the whole US / credit piece playing out. Just when I think I have it sorted out the whole cause and effect dynamic changes.
