Yes, everybody is responsible for their own actions but that does not include giving wrong advice as you did and you certainly didn't do it too nicely either.

Next time, please ask for information instead of telling someone how it is.

There was medical advice available so why not consult them instead of rubbishing it.

If you are in Biotechs then an open mind is required, not a devious one, IMHO.
