This recent comment from DRD's Iian Murray would suggest that DRD may opt to increase its stake in EMP - maybe launch a full t/o bid - esp. if EMP's expansion plans remain on track.

Worth keeping an eye on EMP this year (for more reasons than one) :-

"Murray said DRD’s new business team was looking at a minimum of six active gold-producing mines at a time, with a view to acquiring stakes in the businesses. He said the ideal was for these mines to have cash operating costs lower than $300/oz and annual production of 100 000 oz and higher. “The market is a lot more open in Australasia – there are a number of potential targets for us to compare,” he said.

Murray said DRD would not reveal whether it would make new acquisitions or expand its existing stakes in Australia’s Tolukuma and Porgera and in Fiji’s Emperor. “If the return on investment and the turnaround profile are right, we will look at a project,” Murray said"
