so called 'negoitation' with hard core fundamentalists for 2 decades has led us to the point where they have been emboldened to cause 9/11 and every other outrage before and after. negoiation is seen as weakness to them.

I don't doubt that colonialism and interference caused injustice and resentment, but most of these things occured some time ago, and most jihadis only know because their parents taught the hate regardless of its continued revelance or not.
