Still not factoring full DOD tender

Good chance this leak has wrong footed Lynas prior DOD full tender announcement nominally due mid August.

"Lynas Corporation and its brokers had a long night of fundie meetings ahead of them on Sunday evening, as they sought to price the rare earth metals producer's mooted $425 million capital raising.

Lynas Corporation managing director Amanda Lacaze will hand down the company's 2020 results on Monday.
Street Talk understands Lynas and its bankers at Bank of America and Canaccord Genuity had started sounding out investors at $2.25 a share for the placement and rights issue, but were walking up to the $2.40 mark as of Sunday evening.
Fund manager sources said the deal was likely to get done at either $2.30 or $2.40. Lynas shares last traded at $2.61, so if it did get priced at $2.40 that would see the deal offered at a tight 8 per cent discount.
The raising – first revealed by this column on Saturday afternoon – was slated to go towards building and commissioning Lynas' new cracking and leaching plant at Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
The plant is being fast-tracked to completion, after Lynas was ordered to change its operations and stop producing low-level radioactive waste in Malaysia by the local government."

They can only relate it to previously announced projects which were nominally due to be self financed, or largely so, if that were the case doubt they'd get $425m away at 8% discount.

IMO this is only half a leak, they've missed the real purpose for this raise, but put Lynas in the hot seat without any US announcement full tender result.

Bullish commentary on price suggesting confidence the CR will be filled, which again suggests JOGMEC is stepping up, which suggests expansion way past what has already been put on the table.
