    It is good that people are actually looking critically at these claims. For too long we have accepted what we have been told, possibly to salve our consciences. "Secret Women's Business", we swallowed that one ----- suckers.

    I have always thought they were the "saved" generation, and this is based on events and people I know about.

    Having said that, I am aware of other stories where the aboriginals have been mistreated and cheated and another story [unverified] my mother told me that was murder.

    It is a past that brings discredit to a number of people black and white but I believe that most people working for the different governments were trying to do the right thing within the norms of the day. I also believe that if today's attitudes had prevailed then, many blacks alive today would not be.

    I have a black "uncle" left behind at a station when the group went "walkabout". "We come back for baby later, Missus". They never did. That child was raised as part of the family.
