The guy with the 20k shares on the offer is *not* the bot, he's the retail guy. He tried to get done at the end of the day by offering lower during the auction. The bot sees that order, and sees that the match is below VWAP (presumably that was its strategy) and is simply bidding the exact number of shares that it needs so as not to bump the match price to 12c.
If you're looking for someone to blame for it closing at 11.5c and not 12c, blame the retail seller. The bot is on the bid.
