I don't know that there has been any specific news, but as you say German sales are expected soon/have recently started.
I think it's more the case that there is a large visible pipeline of powerful catalysts over coming weeks and months, and a few more investors are deciding the time is right to take a position ahead of this. Whoever bought 16,000 at the open today wasn't too price sensitive, and in a thinly traded stock like this, just a few wanting in can have a big impact. So, supply and demand rather than newsflow driven.
What'll it do when there is newsflow AND volume????
