Instead of the Federal government throwing huge sums of cash willy nilly and trying to shore up electoral support and keep the greenies and lazy layabouts happy.
What about if they used some of the billions to subsidise the state governments to reduce/remove their obnoxious state payroll taxes? Businesses would be relieved of some of their costs, free up cash, employ more people, produce more, create demand etc etc.
