Brucey a strange set of assertions I must say. you say "keep up the lab faith while you can".
To me it sounds like you feel as if labor is illegitimately in office, as if it has somehow usurped some divine right of the Liberals to govern. Unfortunately this type of view is also held by some members of the Liberal machine. They act like their party is a government in exile rather than one of the Opposition parties within a democratic system of Government. If the Liberals, Nationals,Greens,Democrats etc were to gain Government most people would accept the decision and hope that good government will follow. They know that in 3 years they will be making their final judgement on the Governments performance.
A good Opposition will also be endeavouring to come up with good policies whether or not the Government takes them up because it is the responsible and right thing to do in the interests of the Australian Community. I do think what is holding Malcolm Turnball back from coming up with a progressive direction for the Liberals are the pressures from some within his own party, the ones that still consider they are the government in exile. Malcolm Turnball is a progressive small "l" Liberal who strongly believes in Australia becoming a republic but who will have to weed out those stodgy old school types if he is to make his mark on the Australian political scene. I look forward to him succeeding in this and hope the same fate does not fall on him as it did on Brendan Nelson.
cheers
