Nov 08 there was a massive oversupply of aluminium and by nov 09 the stockpiles where beginning to look lower in china. Hence the drive of prices from nov 09 to jan 10. The demand built the stock piles up and then there was a fall in aluminium price and all the aluminium players felt the shock of this reduction of price. This fluctuation has messed with profit margins coupled with high electricity prices. Alcoa was upgraded last night by USB and the demand for aluminium is being driven up once again. For some reason aluminium is the last resource to push up. Alumina seems to be presently locked in the 1.66 Range to 1.70. In the last drop it went to 1.485 but it seems that it has leveled out. When it does level it seems to stay in it's present range then when demand for aluminium starts to increase it pushs up very quickly. One would assume this drive forward is in the very near future. When this happens aluminium players will be very attractive take over targets. Watch this space
