Dealing with two countries for one project to be economical might be beyond the chinese abilities. I think the Chinese would rather buy into one of the other regional high grade deposits in the Cameroon since then rail infrastruture could continue to the other closeby deposits . They could then pick up the now stranded assets in the congo owned by SDL for next to nothing.
