I can tell you those meat producers will switch to grain and never go back. It's more capital intensive, less time intensive and the rewards are greater. The young who take over these businesses will never go back to livestock and the WA. consumer will have to buy meat from either the Kimberly's or the Eastern states with huge transport and refrigeration costs. Those businesses won't be cheaper to buy as it is the cost of land that makes up 99% of a farm business. Abattoirs will be worth nothing and those workers will be forced to go to another industry.
