PP, I know Bernie quite well - he was previously a target shooter for the Polish Olympic team in 1998. So his eyesight is no longer an issue.

The thing that caught my attention wrt Nik Burns comments, were that it is apparent that analysts and instos are now focussing on the issue of Santos gas reserves for the 2nd Train.
So STO has sorted out the equity issues, take-offs, technical expertise issues, etc and really enviro approvals, STO equity raising, and reserves are the only things left.
This means that STO is going to be under huge pressure to resolve that issue, either by clearly explaining where and how it will get its gas from its own reserves, or buy it from 3rd parties.

PS- the other day I questioned "how about BOW providing the gas to STO instead of ESG.

have a look at TUI post on BOW thread - Tui mentions that R prefontaine from BOW said BOW already had been approached by the bigger LNG parties for their gas. So I am sure that buying the required reserves from BOW will be high on the agenda.

that could be a good alternative if STO figures that taking out ESG would prove too costly. Simply buying gas from BOW may well turn out cheaper?

    cheers
