Porgera still not open and not expected to be open till late or end of year so the bonus of gas sales to power to plant isn't happening yet. Means less engineering support and business in PNG in general but has an affect on stable government.
Would seem crazy to be using diesel when ga sis at hand for all othe rmining equipment or even electric using the gas fired plant .
PNG was expectong 3-4 % growth and with elections and some mapr rojects on hold that will be a tough ask so expect 2 maybe 3% unless further [rogect delays. . STO PNG earnings will be a massive % of PNG income. Not a bad position to be in being a major contributor to states coffers and also foreign exchange income for royalties. . Projects of scale in PNG are Newcrest-Harmony Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project, Panaust's Frieda River copper-gold project and Total's Papua LNG.
