"but wouldn't we be better off getting rid of the middle man" - well then why not get rid of every middle man ? - Tradies (surely I can get stuff from hardware store and fix everything) - Taxi Drivers (I've got a car, I can drive) - Banks (my friends will loan me money) - Stock Brokers (I will visit the company myself) ..... And "yet the government is broke" - well why are they broke ? I keep giving it a share of what I earned each year, and if they need more, well all they have to do is ask. I mean if they are going to do all this mining with "my money" then surely they will give me everything they produce for "free". Wow this is great, why has no one thought of this before, you are a genius.
