Why ESG? Why not MEL given the odds are shortening for MEL to have good sized conventional gas reserves beneath their CSG reserves and that conventional gas is cheaper and quicker to develop and given that MEL is but a 120km pipeline from market.
I hold both ESG and MEL and frankly, being a loyal but adopted Aussie, I wish Santos had the foresight and smarts to take them both out ... some of these reserves have to stay in safe Aussie hands surely!
