the mistake people make every cycle is they understimate the greed and fear of individuals vs the group

its obvious overproduction is silly at a collective level

but always each individual company or country has reasons to try to maximise their income - and hope others fall by the wayside before they do

this stupidity repeats every cycle and is why fund managers are generally so negative on commodities as a rule of thumb

but its also why those who time their entry and exit well make huge amount from commodities

re the original posters query - I still think STO sees $6.50is in next month or 2.

but i dont think we;re at 40oil for 2 years.


So unless it goes bankrupt in meantime or some other shenanigan i dont see much downside risk buying STO here on a 3 year + view


but ive been holding off cos i think it will be cheaper in june
