    I don't have previous STO lists but I have been looking at stochastic searches for about a year now and I have noticed that generally the shorter the list the more toppy the market is. As with most indicators, it is either feast or famine. After a dip the list gets long for a while as buy opportunities open up across the board.

    I've uploaded an XJO chart below with th stochastic clearly in the sell territory. Of course nothing is perfect and while the stochastic works beautifully for lots of stocks while they are in trading ranges once they start to trend you get false sell signals if the trend is up and false buy signals if it is down.
