There were several reasons including competition, product effectiveness & price discounting.
Axiron, as I understand, is used only by those with a testosterone deficiency & consequently may not be of use to those who use alternative products which may mean that their market, although sizable, is limited in comparison to the overall market.
I am not an expert regarding all the other products & which dysfunction they address.
It was mainly the need to discount that would reduce the future expectations regarding revenue.
